Truck Driver

What is with all of these crazy drivers these days!?
Just this morning on the way to Delta College, Joanna and I came across so many drivers that in our opinion should not be allowed to own a driver's license. Of course with driving about sixty miles to school it would be expected to at least come across one crazy driver. On this lucky Morning Joanna and I were blessed with running into a lovely semi driver that had the bright idea to back out on the road in front of our car and another car that was coming from the opposite direction because he wanted to back into a field that was across the road from him. At first I thought that he was just going to back up a little bit on the road in front of the car so he could get on the road, but then he cut the wheel and backed into our lane too! I could tell that Joanna was thinking the same thing and she wasn't planning on stopping, so I had to tell her to stop. I'm glad that I told her when I did because the semi driver didn't give us much time to realize what he was doing and we probably would have hit him. I mean what the heck was he thinking. He obviously did not know how to back up a semi trailer because we sat there on the road for five minutes waiting for him to get out of the way. The guy that was guiding him into the entrance of the field must not have been one of the sharpest crayons in the box either because he was definitely not very good at guiding the driver. We weren't sure if he was just nervous and in a hurry because he was blocking traffic or he just sucked at reverse but that driver needs to learn not to back his semi up onto the road in the middle of traffic.
(I couldn't help but to take a picture!)

Soaring Eagle

Walking into the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant I hit a wall of noise and lights from the slot machines. This is only my second time going to a casino in my whole life and it is definitely a new experience. Taking a second to bring it all in, I stop and watch all the people around me. Some are at slot machines while others are at the card tables or just walking around. Every once and a while I hear an excited voice screaming, hmm they must have one big. Following Brandon through the maze of noisy machines, I allow him to lead me to one of the slots he wants to play and we sit down. After what only seemed like a few minutes, but really it was over an hour we decided that since we were losing way more than we were winning, we would head over to the Black Jack table. I did not have a clue how to play Black Jack a few hours earlier, but Brandon gave me a quick walk through of the game before we left for the casino. I was a little, okay a lot  iffy about the whole Black Jack thing, but Brandon assured me that it would be okay and he would help me out, so I sat down with twenty dollars while he threw a fifty dollar bill down. I was pretty confused at first, but the other people sitting at the table and the dealer were very nice and there was another girl at the table that also didn't know how to play. Everyone assured me that I was doing pretty good and it seemed like it because my pile of little red chips was growing. Brandon ended up throwing another fifty down, but he was betting like three more chips than I was. In the end I came ahead over one hundred dollars while he came ahead a couple hundred, my big better that he is. So overall it was a pretty good experience and I think we will stick to Black Jack instead of the slots from now on.

Opening Morning

Waking up before the sun comes up is definitely not for me, but opening morning of bow season I did it just for my boyfriend. The alarm going off right next to my ear should have been a huge eye opener, but instead I just rolled to the end of the bed, unplugged the phone and shoved it into Brandon's waiting hand. As the morning person that he is, he rolled out of bed and jumped into the shower as I just pulled the covers over my head and snuggled my head into my waiting feather pillow. I was hoping just to get another ten minutes of my wonderful beauty sleep until I had to fight myself to get up and get dressed so that I could walk into the freezing wind and sit in a tree stand for hours.

Reawakening to Brandon throwing his wet towel on me and him warning me that he will leave without me if I am not ready, I forced my bare feet to the carpet and stood up in order to find my hunting clothes which were waiting in a pile in order of what goes on first thanks to my OCD boyfriend. After putting on layers upon layers of under armor and my camouflage lined with light pink on the inside I trudged into the bathroom to brush my teeth as I could hear the faint sound Brandon rushing me in the background. After shoving my feet into my brand new camouflage boots and rolling my too long pants up thanks to my short legs I was ready to climb into the truck and ride to the woods. Arriving at the woods I was warned to be quiet as we walked towards the "Pond Blind" so that I could sit next to Brandon for three hours in the freezing wind on some hard boards and see nothing but a few does and a huge buck that never came in close enough to aim at. Man I must be a good girlfriend. :)
